The MHSA Stock Seat Medallion Finals are BACK!!! After a hiatus of several years, the Stock Seat Medallion program enjoyed success, particularly in the Central Missouri areas, with several shows hosting qualifying classes with usually four to five riders competing for the opportunity to become qualified for the Finals.
Last year, the Stock Seat Finals were held the wildly popular Youth Fall Harvest Horse Show at the Central Missouri Event Center (CMEC) with a large number of exhibitors competing. The winning rider last year was Sydney Cantrell with Justin Eddy taking reserve.
This year, the Finals will be held at the Central States Fall Classic Horse Show to be held at the Missouri State Fairgrounds in Sedalia, MO, October 30-November 1, 2015. Show manager, Lynn McCallister, a strong supporter of educational opportunities and horse shows, has agreed to schedule the Stock Seat Medallion classes much as was done last year, with a qualifying class to be held on Sunday morning, Nov. 1st, and the Stock Seat Medallion Finals to be later the same day. This will provide an opportunity for those riders not yet qualified to become eligible to ride in the Finals. The Finals will be judged by a three-judge panel; the top ten riders will be recognized and the winning rider will receive substantial college scholarship awards for turning in the winning ride.

Remember, you must be a member of MHSA, age 17 and under, and nominated in MHSA equitation in order to be eligible to ride in any MHSA Medallion class.
